Whole Grains for New Moms

As a mom of a new baby, you’re concerned about the foods you eat and the nutrition for you and your newborn. One has to take important factors into account such as a healthy, balanced diet. Choose meals that include the 5 food groups. For example, one of those food groups would be grains; you should aim to consume at least half of your grain intake from whole grains. Whole wheat, oats, barley or other cereal grains can be included in your diet. For an easy morning try soaking your oats overnight and by morning, it’ll be ready to eat! Dress it up with either a drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of brown sugar, nuts, or even raisins.

So add a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast or bake some oatmeal cookies and enjoy this simple addition to your diet.
