  • 5 Cup(s) peeled, thinly sliced apples
  • 1/4 Cup(s) granulated sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon(s) Cornstarch
  • 1 Teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoon(s) Water


  • 3/4 Cup(s) Quaker® Gluten Free Quick 1-Minute Oats, uncooked
  • 1/4 Cup(s) multi-purpose gluten free flour blend
  • 1/3 Cup(s) firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 Teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 stick unsalted butter (4 tablespoons), cut into small pieces

Cooking Instructions

Heat oven to 375°F. For filling, place apples in large bowl. Add sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon; sprinkle water over apples. Stir until ingredients are well combined and cornstarch is dissolved. Spoon into 8-inch square baking dish or other 2-quart baking dish. For topping, in medium bowl combine oats, flour blend, brown sugar and cinnamon; mix well. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over apples. Bake 30 to 35 minutes until fruit is tender and topping is crisp. Serve warm.

Variation: Replace apples with 4 cups fresh or frozen, unsweetened sliced peaches, and 1 cup fresh or frozen, unsweetened raspberries (thaw fruit if frozen; do not drain). Omit cinnamon. Proceed as recipe directs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Gluten Free Treat using Instant Quaker Oats I made two of these at the same time. One for my son and his family, who eat gluten free, and another using regular flour, for myself and husband. It was easy to make as I had peeled, cored and sliced 12 cups of apples the day before. I used 6 cups sliced apples for each dish. The only change I made to the gluten free recipe was to use gluten free rice flour, which I had on hand, instead of the recommended gluten free flour. The other dish was made according to the directions using non gluten free flour. Since I baked them together, I baked them for an extra 5 minutes to a beautiful golden crisp. Both dishes looked great and tasted better than they looked! I could not detect a difference in taste. I am very happy with this recipe and will make it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious!!!! Was very good!!! Used 1 large fugi apple and 2 large opal apples. Added Penzeys apple pie spice, clove, 5 spice, nutmeg, allspice (like a lot of spices). Baked well, nice color and texture. Not too sweet, which was nice. Very easy to make and will definitley make again.
