• 1/2 Cup(s) firmly packed brown sugar

  • 1/2 Teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 Cup(s) (1/2 stick) butter, softened

Cooking Instructions

Heat oven to 350ºF. Spray 13 x 9-inch metal baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. For topping, combine oats, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly; set aside. For cake, combine cake mix, oats, yogurt, eggs, oil and water in large bowl. Blend on low speed of electric mixer until moistened; mix at medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in apples. Pour into pan. Sprinkle topping evenly over batter. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream, if desired.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Flavor! My family loved the flavor of this cake, but the topping doesn't fit the silky texture of the cake. It was kind of like a granola cake with all that oatmeal. I will definitely make this again, but I would leave off the topping and instead just sprinkle powdered sugar on the top of the cooled cake or garnish with a little whipped cream.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ingredients Do Not Match Instructions The instructions include using eggs, but the ingredients list does not show any. The cake mix box said to use three eggs, so that is what I put in. The cake came out okay. The topping was way to dry, peraps something missin from that part of the recipe? Scraped it off and reeplaced with a confectionerd icing drizzle.
