For Crumble:

  • 1 Cup(s) brown sugar
  • 1/2 Cup(s) flour
  • 1 Cup(s) Quaker® Oats
  • 1/2 Teaspoon(s) Cinnamon
  • 1/3 Teaspoon(s) Salt
  • 1/2 Cup(s) almonds
  • 1 Tablespoon(s) stick butter melted
  • 1/2 Teaspoon(s) vanilla

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 Fahrenheit Butter an 8 inch pie glass baking dish. In a bowl toss apples, 2 tablespoons of butter and brown sugar together. Then pour apple mixture into pie glass baking dish. Set to the side. In a medium bowl mix brown sugar, flour, oatmeal, cinnamon, and salt together. Mix well. Then add in almonds, butter, and vanilla. Mix with hands to bring mixture together. Then top your apple mixture with oatmeal brown sugar mixture and place in the oven for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and serve with vanilla ice cream and eat on it’s own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding! I had a lot of extra apples left over and decided to make this recipe. Iused seven Granny Smiths and two Honeycrisp. I then approximated 1.5 times the topping. The apples are tender sweet and juicy, and the topping is still crisp even when eating his leftovers. I will definitely make this again!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needed a bit more of crisp I mixed flour and almond meal instead of using regular almonds (because they were in my pantry). The topping didn't quite come together into a crisp. Instead, it still looked liked dry ingredients. It became more of a yummy syrup after it mixed with juices from apples. I looked at similar recipes which all called for 4T (or 1/2 c) butter fro topping. I would modify this to add more butter on the topping to make it 'crisp.'
