Quaker Instant Grits - Original Flavor is rated 4.04 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too much sodium! I purchased Quaker instant oats and Quaker instant grits. Oats has 17 mg sodium and the grits had 310 mg sodium! Why so much sodium in your grits? It was SO salty to the taste, my husband and I didn't enjoy eating it - even with putting sugar in it. I then purchased Albers Quick Grits and they have NO sodium in their grits. With the rise of high blood pressure and other complications with eating too much sodium - why put sodium in any product that is a breakfast cereal? If people want salt in their cereal, they can add it. I'm very disappointed in this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not so good My wife and I have been eating grits for over 70 years. (She's 73 and I am 75) She purchased these Instant Grits to use when time was important. Why did you have to put SALT in the grits? I know that some people put a little salt in the water when preparing regular Grits, we salt sparingly . If we add bacon, sausage or cheese they all have salt in them. Why is there so much salt in your Grits? Is it for added weight?Fortunately Our son & daughter cook their Grits for our grand kids. And we've already told them about your instant grits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love instant grits family size. It is hard to find the FAMILY SIZE box of instant grits. Is it possible to order directly from the company? It is widely used in my home. My grandchild love them also.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, lousy packaging I bought a 5 lb. bag of 5-minute grits yesterday and had a very difficult time opening the bag. The glue that holds the bag was so strong that when I tried to open it, the paper bag tore and grits went every where. I will grant that I am older and have arthritis in my hands, but I don't have this problem with any other bagged products, like flour or sugar. Can't you glue your bags with something that isn't so strong? This stuff could suspend a truck from the ceiling.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Less Salt I purchased the instant grits for a quick breakfast option and easy prep at work,, but unlike the other grits, these are way too salty.. The salt stays on my palate .. I try to add lil more water but that changes texture..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The goodness of simplicity Aside from being a highly versatile food that can assume savory flavors with as much facility as sweet ones, I love the simplicity of Quaker grits. I truly enjoy products with very few and simple ingredients. While I am turned off by flavored oatmeals and other hot cereals (including those made by Quaker), I prefer flavoring plain grits to my liking. I also like to mix in chopped dates and maple syrup with my hot grits. I find that this meal packs some good nutrients into one bowl and keeps me satisfied for longer than cold cereals or even one serving of oatmeal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Excessively Salty I am new to the South and found the delight of a bowl of hot plain Grits as a wholesome breakfast treat. Being used to enjoying Quakers Oatmeal both Instant and Regular Cooked for many years and now enjoying the Regular Cooked Grits we were delighted to see that it was also available as an Instant. What a disappointment. The excessive amount of salt (310mg) per serving made it inedible! I have no medical restriction on the use of salt in my diet, this amount just ruins the taste on your otherwise delicious product. Please do something!
